JLG Telehandler Training Sudbury - In the late 1960's John L. Grove, with his wife Cora embarked on on a cross country trip in their RV. Recently retired, after spending numerous years working with his brother to build their crane company into an market leader, John had no idea that important trip would allow JLG Industries, Inc to emerge. The world leader of mobile aerial work platforms and precision material handling equipment was the end result of a road expedition.
While on their trip, John spent time talking to previous business contacts whom the Groves stopped to visit along the way. These conversations combined with a tragic incident-two workers being electrocuted on scaffolding when the Groves were visiting Hoover Dam- John discovered an infinite market for a product that could quickly and securely elevate individuals in the air to accomplish maintenance and other building functions.
Upon returning from their travels, John established a partnership with two friends and bought a metal fabrication company in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. In 1970, starting operations with a crew of twenty personnel, they built and sold the first JLG aerial work platform. The company incorporates some of the basic design elements of that original lift into existing models.
Since then, JLG Forklifts have come a great distance from when Mr. John L. Grove returned from his fatefull cross-country trip and since the first JLG aerial platform entered the marketplace. As of today, the company has expanded itself into many different global markets and continues to cultivate contemporary equipment to ensure that clients are able to become safer and more efficient within their workplace.
